On the 31st of July 2010 Vicky was the main artist and performed 'Afrikan Dream' at the Ms. Namibia Pageant that was held in Windhoek, Namibia.


On June 16th, the day on which South Africa commemorates the youth uprisings of 1976 and that is officially known as Youth Day, Vicky performed at Bishop Lavis High School on the Cape Flats as part of her outreach to young people to encourage them to stay away from drugs and gangsterism.

Vicky performed 'Afrikan Dream' and 'One Tribe' as part of the opening ceremony of the Cape Town 2010 Street Party on Thursday 10 June.

On 22 May, Vicky performed at the Nedbank Cup Final - an occasion that also marked the official opening of Soccer City, South Africa's premier football stadium, where both the opening and final matches of the 2010 World Cup will be played.
Vicky Sampson is the magical voice behind 'Afrikan Dream' - the song that inspired a nation and a continent when she sang it at the opening and closing ceremonies of the African Cup of Nations Football Competition that was held in South Africa in 1996. The song has won her Best Song, courtesy of East Coast Radio, the NTVA Silver for video, and an international MIDEM nomination for video, and has since become an unofficial anthem, speaking to the hopes and dreams of the people of South Africa and Africa as a whole.

From her humble beginnings as a young girl growing up on the Cape Flats in South Africa, Vicky has risen to international stardom, appearing in shows in Austria, England, Germany, Singapore, Sweden, the Netherlands and the United States of America and sharing the stage with the likes of Shakatak, Al Jarreau,Tina Turner, Joe Cocker, Peabo Bryson, George Benson, Grace Jones, Randy Crawford, Maxi Priest, Kool and the Gang and the Stylistics.

At home, Vicky made front-page news when she appeared on stage with President Nelson Mandela and subsequently she appeared in a special tribute show, celebrating the 90th birthday of Madiba, with him as the main member of the audience.

At the personal request of former President Thabo Mbeki, she performed at his inauguration in 1999. Undoubtedly, former President Thabo Mbeki, popularly dubbed as 'Mr. African Rennaissance',is a big believer in the African Dream, so eloquently expressed in the song.!

Vicky has released three albums; namely Shine, Zai and License To Sing and with each album, her considerable talent and growth as a performer, singer and songwriter has been showcased. Cedric Samson, the producer of Vicky's latest album, puts it as follows:
